How To Apply

"I liked that BTC was a small school because from beginning to end they help you one on one, step by step. Just having one person help get me started eased my nerves. I didn’t have to run all over a big campus talking to tons of different people." -Jessica A.

FAQs

How do transfer credits work?

If you have college credits from another school, request an official transcript be sent to us from that institution. Call us or come in to start an application so we know who to contact and what program you are trying to get into. Our registrar will evaluate your transcript and contact you once the evaluation is complete.

We do not accept transfer credits for our core nursing classes, only general education classes will be evaluated. Until the registrar has reviewed an official transcript, we cannot promise any credits will transfer.

Ask A Question
What entrance exams do I need to take?

If you are applying for the Medical Assistant program or general education classes, you will take the Wonderlic exam.

If you are applying for one of the nursing programs, but are taking gen-ed classes before the program begins you will take the Wonderlic exam.

If you are applying for the LPN or RN program, you will take the Wonderlic exam and the TEAS exam.

If you are applying for the LPN to RN Bridge program, you will take the Wonderlic exam and the ATI LPN Comprehensive Predictor that asks nursing related questions.

If you are applying for the CMT program, you will take the TABE test.

Ask A Question
What is the deadline for your application period?

We fill our programs on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, so our application deadline is when the program becomes full. Anyone who gets accepted after the program is full will be put on a waitlist and will take the place of anyone who decides not to start the program.

If the program isn’t full, the deadline is 2 weeks before the program start date. That allows applicants time to complete the application process before the first day of classes.

Ask A Question
How do gen-eds work?

We offer the general education classes at our campus, which makes it easier for our students. Unlike other schools, our general education classes are part of our program and can be taken during your program. This allows a student to get in and out faster; however, a lot of our students take the general education classes before their program begins, which lightens the full-time course load. Give Admissions a call to see which option might work best for you.

Ask A Question
What prerequisites do I need for my program?

The only program that has prerequisites is the Professional Nursing Bridge program. The RN Bridge program is for current licensed LPNs. If you are applying for the Bridge program you will need to complete the 18 credit hours BEFORE the program begins.

All other programs do not have prerequisites, so you can get started right away.

Ask A Question
Besides the application, what all do I need to do to get into the program?

That depends on the program, so the best answer is to give us a call. In general, we will need copies of a few documents, two satisfactory background screenings, an entrance exam or two completed, and some medical records. Call us for the checklist though!
